And with the opportunity to finally obtain your learner’s driver license, this freedom is inching closer and closer. However, before you can get there, you must first go through the necessary steps to achieving a Provisional license.

Pass the Written Road Rules Test

This test needs to be taken at a Department of Motor Vehicles and Main Roads branch, and in order to pass, you must complete the first part of the test with no more than two errors, and the second part of the test with no more than one error. The test consists of 30 multiple-choice questions about road rules and driving requirements.

To best prepare for the test, you should online practice rules test, which will have very similar questions to the ones you’ll find on the real thing. Once you’ve taken this test, you will land yourself with a new Learning Driver’s License and a Logbook to rack up 100 hours with a year.

Learning to Drive

Now that it’s legal for you to be on the road, you need to learn to drive while properly obeying road rules. The best way to do so is to enrol in a driving school. More specifically, to enrol in Learner’s Driver Training. With options of learning automatic or manual, friendly and knowledgeable driving instructors, and a fleet of industry standard vehicles to drive, Learner’s Driver Training is the best choice for you.

In order to progress to your Provisional 1 driver’s licence you must have 100 hours of supervised driving, including 10 hours of night driving. This can be a lot for families with busy lives or families that share a car, so not only can going with a driving school alleviate this stress, but they can even accelerate the rate in which you get your license, as every 1 hour spent with an instructor can be recorded as 3 hours in your logbook.

Taking the Test

This step is a lot more of a big deal than taking the written road rules test. Although it must again be taken at the Department for Motor Vehicles and Main Roads, this time you’re actually at the wheel. After 20-60 minutes of having your driving analysed, you will either receive or Provisional 1 license or be told to come back and give it another go later.

Provisional 1 License

That freedom you’ve been itching for for a year is finally here! Just remember to always display your red provisional

plate at the front and back of your car when driving, always to have your license on your person when driving, and you to abide by the road rules that your Learner’s Driver Training instructor taught you.

Driving Distractions

Being safe on the road is more than just knowing how to drive, it’s knowing how to distance yourself from any distractions that can occur while at the wheel. This may seem like an easy concept to you, I mean you’re able to multi-task doing every day tasks right? Despite your first thought, attempting to multi-task while driving is extremely dangerous as you are travelling at high speeds and there are obstacles all around your vehicle. This means that multi-tasking is off the cards and instead

This means that multi-tasking is off the cards and instead you need to focus on getting from point A to point B. To do this, you need to first be able to identify what potential distractions there are.

Eating & Drinking

So you’re running late to school or work and you need to have a quick breakfast on the go. While it may seem like a good idea to eat something already prepared while driving, this can be a major hazard. With the loss of both hands from the wheel, you are putting yourself at risk to manoeuvre your vehicle quickly to avoid collision. So put your brekkie in some Tupperware and wait until you get out of your car to eat.

The World Around You

Now this one is a hard one because you can’t exactly control what other people are doing. You could be looking out the windscreen, watching the road in front of you and then notice a dog doing a backflip or a woman in a wheelchair stand for the first time. Yet, whatever miracle you swear you are seeing, it’s not worth compromising your safety. Focus on the road instead.

Mobile Phones

Now this is the big one, especially for young drivers. It seems that people are now becoming so dependant on their phones that they can’t put them down, even while driving. This is extremely worrying, as mobile phones have been one of the main causes of crashes the past two years. To combat this, put your phone on silent while driving, or better yet, turn it off completely.

Why Getting Lessons From A Professional Is Key

There are a number of things that change in the Q safe practical driving test regularly .. Learners Driver Training are up to date on these changes.

It is important to ensure that the student is learning the correct technique.

It is very frustrating for the student when they have been taught to drive a certain way and have been doing so for 80 -90 hrs , It is hard to change this technique in a few hours before they take the practical driving exam. To learn the correct techniques from the start will not only help the student to learn a lot quicker, but come test time , it makes it a lot easier for the student if the instructor is not trying to change bad driving habits.

Experienced driving instructors understand all of the road rules and can explain this and clarify it to the student so that they know what they are doing out on the road. This brings confidence. It also ensures that this doesn't become an issue in the practical driving test. Professional Driving School Gold Coast instructors will take the student through these situations as many times as needed in order for the student to understand the situation.

Driving instructors are teachers and have teaching skills . I often hear parents say that when it comes to driving , They can do it, but to teach it is another thing. We have developed ,tested, measured, adjusted and fine tuned all of our teaching techniques to ensure that the student understands . Different people learn in different ways , our instructors understand this and have a variation of techniques, Going through these until the right one is found for you .

Take the stress out of your relationship. Leave it to the professionals .

Learners Driver Training only employ the right people. It takes a certain type of skill set to teach people to drive. Patience, positivity and calmness are just a few of the traits instructors must possess . It is done so in a professional environment with no personal issues arising.

To teach correctly in a safe environment it is a must to have a vehicle that is fitted with dual controls .It allows the instructor to assist the student in complex situations and avoid accidents. It also allows the instructor to put the student in complex situations whilst being in control of safety. Whether it be assisting with a take off in heavy traffic to avoid a stall or having to use the brake to avoid a collision. These are a must and make the learning process a lot easier.

To pass a driving test you need to not only know what it consists of but to be confident in all aspects of what the practical test consists of. A test preparation lesson is a great way to do this.

At the start of your learning journey? ready to go for your test? or anywhere in between or after, remember, Learners Driver Training is there to help.

Welcome to Learners Driver Training
